Mudnight Madness by the rockets red glare!
This is the Third Annual Mudnight Madness Overnight around Block Island. The date keeps moving around because of the July 4th holiday and the shifting sands of time on the calendar, but whenever you go offshore at night, it's bound to create the kind of challenge that has sent men and women to the sea for centuries. So, now that we have the event in historical context, you will find all you need right here. The entry form and waiver can be downloaded as well as the NOR and the Sailing Instructions.
We have spinnaker, non spinnaker and double-handed classes with one start planned to maximize the ECSA bonus points. We expect a big moon, tricky currents, fireworks enroute and the big decision of which way to round Block Island. If you've ever picked up a set of dividers or punched some numbers into a GPS, this should wet the appetite of the naviguesser inside you. Previous winners include Kaizen and Remedy. This is a double points race for ECSA overall Championship.
Send your entry to Mudnight Madness at PO Box 117, West Mystic, CT 06388 or contact Greg Gilmartin at
